addypin.com - drop a pin, get a link

Sharing a specific location in 2026 is still awkward.

Google's share links only open in Google Maps. Apple's only in Apple Maps. Raw coordinates can't be said out loud. Permanent "place URLs" usually want an account or route you through a trackingredirector.

I built addypin.com to fix that.

A six-character handle — HOUSE1 for the rental with the bad address, BBQ22 for the parking lot behind the church — that opens the same coordinates in whatever map app the recipient already has.Twelve apps supported, covering Google, Apple, Waze, Naver, Yandex, Baidu, Amap, Neshan, and more. The same handle also works as an email, so anyone can message HOUSE1@addypin.com and get the location back.

  • Privacy was the non-negotiable. No accounts, no tracking, no analytics, no third-party scripts.
  • Coordinates encrypted at rest; owner emails stored only as a one-way fingerprint.
  • Retired shortcodes are permanently burned — a stale link can't silently redirect to a stranger's place.
  • Public lookups return the location and nothing else.

Free. Not venture-funded. Not pivoting into adtech.
